Obama giving the nod to the Iranian nuclear program to promote “parody of weaponry” helped no one. Today though, it’s a non-partisan recognition of the danger to world peace. Trump pushed for Iran to give up the program as did the U.S. representative in the UN. Iran turned that down even though a favorable economic offer was made. Iran’s unpopular regime needs to go and the world needs to usher them out the door.

brad johnson it is august 10th of 2020
00:04
and you wanted to talk a little bit
00:06
about
00:07
a distinctly cooling trend in u.s
00:10
iranian relations
00:14
yes and it’s over the nuclear issue
00:15
which as we all know
00:17
uh the you know i i think even
00:20
among democrats i think there is a
00:22
percentage certainly among the people
00:24
perhaps not among the politicians but
00:27
certainly among democrats
00:28
and and conservatives and republicans
00:30
and others there’s a recognition that
00:32
for
00:33
iran to have nuclear weapons is a danger
00:37
to
00:37
world stability so uh
00:40
even though this is an issue that the
00:42
democratic politicians
00:44
have really argued for and it’s one of
00:46
the things that was kind of
00:48
supposedly some sort of crowning
00:49
achievement for obama although immensely
00:51
stupid as a concept to
00:53
allow them to get after a 10-year period
00:55
to openly allow them to get nuclear
00:57
weapons
00:57
i don’t know why they herald that is
00:59
such a great achievement but
01:01
i think overall it’s the democrat
01:02
position that they want to lower the
01:04
overall standard of the
01:06
united states as a superpower by
01:08
allowing others to
01:09
come up and have sort of parody with the
01:12
united states weapons-wise and those
01:13
things and influence
01:15
so uh but this of course was all turned
01:17
around by trump you know
01:19
god bless trump for doing that i think
01:21
anything that we can do to stop
01:23
uh iran from having nuclear weapons is
01:25
is a step
01:26
a positive step for world peace now just
01:29
in
01:30
july there was at the united nations a
01:32
uh a security council meeting
01:34
what part of what was being discussed
01:36
and done there was discussions with iran
01:39
that were essentially you’ll give up
01:41
your nuclear program
01:42
show us proof of the steps of all of
01:44
that and you know we’ll make concessions
01:47
in other ways
01:48
of your financial and those sorts of
01:50
things to help you guys out as
01:52
most people know the iranian economy has
01:54
mostly remained in the
01:55
basement for a long period of time so
01:57
they’re having a lot of problems and
01:58
they’re not all that popular
02:00
domestically they’re
02:01
essentially ruling the country against
02:03
the will of the people so
02:05
uh it’s one of those things that they do
02:07
need to be careful of so that’s what
02:08
that’s where the united states is
02:10
pressing trying to make headway through
02:12
those means now
02:14
the uh the iranian regime will have
02:16
absolutely nothing to do with that never
02:18
basically
02:19
uh told the united states to you know f
02:21
off on on this
02:22
issue that they’re not giving up their
02:24
program and so the
02:26
discussions at the at the u.n security
02:28
council meeting
02:29
broke down and now the reporting has
02:31
surfaced over the last
02:33
five weeks or so since this meeting took
02:35
place that essentially
02:36
kind of the parting shot as this was
02:38
breaking down
02:40
was that the the united states
02:42
representative
02:43
for to the u.n meeting said to them okay
02:46
look
02:47
you have to understand by walking away
02:50
military solution is still on the table
02:52
so that’s kind of where these things
02:54
ended and that’s what’s been reported
02:56
recently now that
02:57
is a very very interesting thing trump
02:59
has has basically said all solutions are
03:02
still on the table
03:03
and if it means you know bombing your
03:05
nuclear program
03:07
uh you know out of existence uh
03:10
is is something that we’ll consider now
03:12
of course that would be heralded and
03:13
supported i’m sure that
03:14
israel behind the scenes is delighted to
03:16
hear all of this
03:17
it’s iran has said stated openly that
03:20
what they’re going to do is use these
03:22
nuclear weapons on
03:23
on israel so uh you know and i i i think
03:26
we should take that at face value i
03:28
think they would absolutely do that
03:29
given the opportunity to do so having
03:31
the weapons and delivery systems
03:33
that would be needed to take to take
03:35
israel out
03:36
so uh this is a very interesting thing
03:38
and it shows kind of the determination
03:40
of the president united states and
03:41
once again kind of kudos to president
03:43
trump on this for
03:45
for allowing the united states to take a
03:47
fairly hard stand on
03:48
iran which let’s face it in the scheme
03:50
of things is the world
03:52
a better safer place with the iranian
03:55
regime gone
03:56
and the answer to that is yes they would
03:58
be and anything to reduce
04:00
their power and influence is a positive
04:02
step for peace
04:03
in the world and so i think president
04:06
trump recognizes that to
04:08
uh to to one degree or another i mean
04:10
i’m not sure where
04:11
precisely he falls on the issue but this
04:14
is an important step forward with
04:16
with military intervention being on the
04:18
table
04:19
will it bring iran to the table uh my
04:21
estimation is that there’s nothing that
04:23
will bring iran to the table
04:24
they just don’t view things that way if
04:26
millions people die they don’t
04:28
care so i don’t think anything will
04:30
bring them to the table which
04:32
uh if logically that would indicate that
04:34
probably at the end of this
04:35
we’re going to see military intervention
04:37
whether it’s u.s or israeli
04:38
i don’t know but they’re they’re
04:40
marching forward as fast as they can to
04:43
uh to obtain or expand their nuclear
04:47
capabilities and delivery systems and
04:49
all of that
04:50
because they plan to use them so uh this
04:52
is this is an important thing that that
04:54
i really hope uh
04:55
you know under the circumstances if they
04:57
won’t negotiate that’s what needs to be
04:59
done i hope it goes forward
05:20
[Music]
05:22
so
05:29
